COAG reform agenda: Report on progress 2011

The COAG reform agenda: Report on progress 2011 is the council’s second report on what governments are achieving across the entire COAG reform agenda.

Our report found that 20 of the 26 major reform commitments are currently on schedule. However, some reform commitments—such as the national Rental Affordability Scheme, improving the availability of social housing and the National Strategy on Energy Efficiency—are behind schedule.

With an investment of $186 billion at stake over the next four years, the council believes it is critical that COAG throws its full weight behind these reforms. Strong political leadership and determined effort from all governments is essential for COAG to meet its long-term goals.

This report was submitted to COAG on 30 September 2011, and publicly released on 15 November 2011.
